Green is for go … to the paint store

I’m not saying it wasn’t a pretty color; it just wasn’t working for me.

I finally came to accept the brown color and it’s not so bad. It’s lightened up a little bit since it was first put on but the green has to go.

It looked fine on the north, east and south side but the west (the side near the proverbial curb) just didn’t look right. When you tend to cringe when you pull into the driveway, something needs to be changed.

As I mentioned before, the contractor thought that painting the ceiling of the porch white would help offset the darkness. It didn’t work. With the porch, wall and ceiling all the same color, it wasn’t inviting at all. Not even a Halloween pumpkin and kitschy welcome signs didn’t help. Since there’s no concrete or asphalt near the door, dirt is a frequent visitor and showed up after contractors tracked my pink mud onto the porch and into the house.

Since I had so much trouble getting the contractor up to the house, I decided to let it go and just deal with it after he finished the job. If I had made anymore changes, I’d still be living in a half-painted house.

Take a look, that is if you can see past the dark.

  • Wow, that really is dark. Guess I need to come up and see it first-hand.
