Gauging rain

If it rains like this every day, fire danger would be mitigated by Mother Nature!

The monsoon rains have delivered several inches of rain in the last few days, encouraging wildflowers to grow and fire danger begins to decline.

It’s become the norm that one or two thunderstorms rumble by dropping as much as an inch with each offering. On July 7 both rain and hail were part of that storm and it dropped a quarter inch of rain.

Though the gauge goes to more than 5 inches of rain, I don’t think I’ll ever see that much rain although with Fourth of July behind us, the slide now begins down into fall and 5 inches of snow is NOTHING for the Bar B.

For now, it’s a nice day, cool and a promise of another thundershower just over the mountains.
