In September 2010 I purchased a house in Conifer, Colo., well, less of a house and more four walls and a lot of work.
Over the last few years it’s been a real mixed blessing. Many, many times I’ve pulled up the ReColorado website and looked for houses down in town. Houses with yards, with lovely kitchens and elegant bathrooms. Houses without bears or mountain lions or ice dams or the isolation that winter brings.
Yet, each time I come up the hill and drive through Turkey Creek Canyon, my cares begin to melt away and the closer I get to the top of the mountain the more I understand by decision to live on the hill.
