As July began the monsoon rains began to give some relief from the sweltering June heat and the Bar B began to cool down and the fire danger diminished just a bit.

On July 5, 2013 two thunderstorms offered up almost two inches of rain that day. The second one had some beautiful light in its wake and I took a few pictures of it.

One thing I miss by living at the Bar B is the site of sunsets. Here, there’s no sunset to behold, the mountains block every Colorado color as the sun sets. Every once and awhile the setting sun illuminates the clouds over Denver and that I can see perfectly.

I didn’t enhance the colors in PhotoShop at all – the colors were what Mother Nature put up that night.

Colorado in July is a wonderful thing, as long as the monsoon rains don’t forget to come through.
